Tha Jury has returned, and while cancer is not ruled out (this is a little disturbing) They belive the two lung blobs to be scar tissue from pnumonia. I am to see a Cardioligest (how ever Ya spells it) tomorrow, talk about short notice, and go to a lung Mechanic the 26th. Mean time My Doc here is still wanting a Colonostomy like last week. I feel like if He wants it so bad He can go get get it in My place. Bet He ain't never had one of'em! All tha aformentioned info just being recieved this afternoon.

Funny, Wife had two Angygrams (hey, spell it any way Ya want?). Her Doc told Her first time were"nt nothin to it.Second time was in Hospital befor release and even tho sedated when They came for Her She realy raised a fuss. Later Her Doc had ta have one. Bless His heart, He pleaded forgiveness from Her....Served'im right! She did'nt.
Had a good Buddy ,dentist, pulled two of His own teeth just ta see how painful it would be. I NEVER DID GET IN THAT BUGGERS CHAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Otherwise I'd say every Doc should have ta take a test afore makin one of Their victoms go thru it!

Anyway, right now tha big storm clouds a lot smaller'n kinda pink.
All prior prayers greatly appriciated and all future ones welcome.

Hogman: The middle of Feburary, 2002 I received the bad news that I had cancer of the left lung. Chances of survival were less than 35%. I came here to this board and asked for their prayers as well as many more places. I went thru 3 bouts of chemo then went to M.D.Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston. Had surgery June 23rd, then post op PET scan which targets tumor cells. None were found. I attribute the power of prayer for the good reports. If I can answer any questions for you about what I have been thru,I will be happy to do so. I posted my email address. I will put you and your family on our prayer list. Best Wishes, Doc

Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Don't
know what you're going to have--colonoscopy? (sp.) (picture taken)

The other is colostomy which is the operation I believe! I never did like those two words because they are spelled too much alike! Hope all goes well.

Today it was off to the heart Guru, now They have Me set up for an Angygram next Tue and a prep work up Monday. I'm gettin confused, Tha first doc said there was a minor stoppage on tha right side, not enough ta worry about but needed ta know for surgery. Today tha Specialest says You got problems and theres no time for foolin around. So, They'll poke tha pipe line in and look around,if no big problem I go home ,if minor They put tha springie things in and I stay overnight if worse, They haul Me to a GOOD Hospital and do open heart. Meantime whereas Tha dude thats supposed ta know tells Us that cancer is not ruled out, Tha critter today is readin all tha reports and talkin about cancer, not as a "not ruled out" but as an item that will follow gettin tha heart problems solved.

If it was'nt for tha pains, sweats, poopin out'n stuff I'd just tell em all ta go way'n leave Me alone! But when Ya pick up a sac of feed'n have ta set it right back down'n set down while Ya try ta breeth'n get tha world ta stop spinnin mabe not.

I try to stay away from those Doctors!! The last one at the VA Hospital said I had lumpnode cancer and it did not look good. They schelded me in for a biopsie (took allmost 3-months) The whole time I went down hill and just called it quits. Then when it came time to get it they changed there mind and said it was a walled of fat cell!!! Darn it allmost killed me waiting for the wrong thing! The mind can sure ruin you if it wants to. The other time they thought I had bad ulsers and I spent 3-days in the hospital for tests. They gave me a upper and lower GI (Thats something I did not like and a girl did it to me!!) They also stuck a Camera down into my stomach to look around and I woke up with it still in there! The Doctor told me I guess I did not give you enough stuff to keep you knocked out??? After about 10 more test on my blood they told me nothing is wrong you just need to slow down and take it easy. My wife came in and said there killing you, you look terible I got to get you out of here now. That's when I decided to quit contracting and enjoy life! Haven't felt better since. Also haven't been to the doctors for a long time except my broken foot. They wanted to do emergecy surigury on it and I said NO! They told me I would not walk on it right for aver a year and it would not heal right. Guess what I got healed in about 3 months and walk fine on it since. No surgery either. Mark H.

VA-Seattle told me I had leukemia based on the unusual pattern of white spots in the bone marrow in my MRI. Oh, those white spots are FAT CELLS and my blood is just fine. Won't let them touch me for more than to check my blood pressure anymore.

Mark some of it sure does make a body wonder. I do think anymore They are so scared of a malpractice suit that They go overboard. Our regular sawbones here who I consider a personal friend nearly sacred Maw out of Her wits on His first call, said "PREPARE FOR THE WORST"!.She came unglued. I do believe by saying That cancer "cannot be ruled out" They are protected.

Realy,it's a sad state of affairs when We have to be in effect victomized by tha very People We look to for help in order for Them to protect Themselves.

Course, tha flip side of that is tha neighbor that was treated for strep throat till He died from cancer. Had three cases like that real close together. Rattled some chains amongest Our Doctors and Tha local Hospital. Whats killin Me is this goofed up shoulder tha started that whole mess ta begin with. Have prescption pain pills for it but still not a useable tool.Meantime My hay crop has gone ta seed and tha pastures ta weed'n I'm rapidly follerin.

Don't envy you a bit: Wife & i went down to Mayo for a once-over and ended up being there 2 weeks. Like everybody else, we carried our little bags (urine and stool samples) around. It's kinda funny once you know what they are. If you want to move up in line, spot somebody who's real nervous, nod at the bags and comment "Been shopping i see ------ ". heh heh
Oh the humility of gettin old - time they're done they'll know more about you than you care to remember Hogman! They'll ask your name and you'll say "You tell me!" Take care!

Hang in there Hogman.

Hey Hogman-PCC-AL    Posted 06-11-2002 at 19:25:25       [Reply]  [No Email]
I've been away for a while and didn't know about your and Missus health problems. Sure sorry. Got some of my own, but not as bad as yours.
Hope you both get well.
My idea is to stay away from doctors, lawyers and dentists. Probably a few more that I could add too. Good luck.

Hogman    Posted 06-11-2002 at 20:02:39       [Reply]  [No Email]
Thanks PCC, Maws was long time ago and almost forgotten, had an Anurism (SP) in Her brain, had to do some fairly severe intrusion but a real great surgon got almost all tha wires hooked up right .Took a long time but She's as normal now as tha rest of Us nut cases. In truth, tha Doc that worked on Her said over 50% of this type die.Of tha 50 %that make it most are vegies. Boiled down to some 2.5 % come out as well as She has. It did change Her character a whole bunch but all for tha better I think.

Good luck Hogman! All I can say is to watch doctors carefully, especially when they start prescribing drugs. I do think many docs lose the human factor and view us as income or subjects. I gotta say, though, that there are a lot of really good docs out there too.
All the best friend, my prayers are with you.

'Mornin' everbody! Hogman!!!you hang in there! every body is pullin for you!!! We'll sure help you through this, doin' what we can, and a whole lot of what they say we can't!!

Whole lot of testimonials here that are saying we can do most anything we put our minds to. Doctors are just people, not some sort of gods to be worshiped, seems as though when I start putting my faith in them, I get burned too, always tell the wife that I don't need one of them to tell me I'm sick, which is what they do, I KNOW that, now, what are YOU going to do about it? Every time, I just come back home and do what I think is best, and heal myself! Over a year ago, my right knee swelled up, hurt, couldn't hardly navigate, stairs dang near impposible, went to see the doc, took xrays, poked a fencepost size needle in my knee to take out some fluid for checkin' [dang near come unglued on that one]! Two weeks later got the report back that there was nothing wrong!!! Set up a dissapointment at a specialist, was supposed to go about two weeks ago, said to H,,, with it, wait a year? no, no! the knee isn't real good yet, but better.......Same horror stories with the wife, finnaly found help from the people at the hospital in Cardston....go figure.

'Nough of my ramblin, gotta go saw some lumber, have a gooder,R.E.L.
