Ive got a lamb who wa born a week ago and there's something wrong with her eye. I can't find any thing in the books i got and have never seen it before,

The eye is constantly weeping, I seperate the eye lids and in the very bottom of the eye it looks like a chunk of rice growing on the surface of the eye. I don't think that it is pinkeye, what could it be and what do I do to treat it.

Id call the vet but she's 3 hrs drive away, might be some thing i can fix on my own.

Any idea's.

Is one of the eyelids rubbing the eyeball? entropion or inverted eyelid is a very common problem, we deal with it all the time. I have not had any that had a "chunk of rice" that I know of so maby it is something else, but I would bet it is inverted eyelid. If you went to a vet he would inject somthing like mineral oil along the edge of the eyelid to make it swell and "unfold" I just keep pulling it around to the position it is supposed to be and bathe the eye in carrot juice or something soothing, it usually takes doing this several times a day for a day or so. Keep us updated, Whitepark
