How to quit smokin'

Must have been back in the late sixties or early seventies, I decided guns were more important than smoking. So I quit and when there was enough money saved to purchase a gun I did. At that time, shooting skeet and trap, and hunting were a large part of my life. Since I retired about sixteen years ago, I haven't done any shooting or hunting. And I have nine guns to sell and really don't know how to go about doing it. Advertising can take a large part of the sale price especially if you don't make a sale. Since they are all paid for and don't eat hay, they really aren't a great burden. However, my two sons have no interest in them so they should be disposed of.

If you want to get rid of your guns or even buy more there is a site called this is a site just like EBay but you can buy and sell all types of guns and gun/hunting related stuff on it. There are rules to follow like the gun must go to a licence Firearm Dealer to have the paper work done for proper transfer (your Local Gun Shop) but you get a lot of people who will see and bid on your gun. Cost nothing if it dose not sell either. Mark H.

Either there was gunpowder in the water in the sixties or we were at that gun-happy age. Having done my share of warring, sidewalk sweeping, reloading, varmint hunting, target & hunting, i have a bunch too - fun to look at once in awhile. Actually my uncle gave me my first gun - i asked him why & he said i'd reach an age where the quetion would become "When does the killing stop?" Turned out the son of a gun was right, but you couldn't have convinced me then - nosir! :)
One thing i have learned - i never lost money on a gun or made money on a vehicle. :)

My first decent gun was a Ithica model 37 12 ga shotgun which my wife purchased as a gift. It loads from underneath and rejects the empties from the same location. Never failed . The price was sixty seven dollars about 1957. I'll keep that one.

I'm not smart enough to figure out how to get an e-mail address off the board or I would have answered your note.

This board's setup real handy for sending email to posters. When you post a message, there's an email option to fill out if you want. It's okay to post without an email address, but if you don't fill it out, the email stuff won't work. Once you include email in the message, that will underline the "Send Email" Right next to the underlined "Reply". (without an email address, the words "Send Email" won't be underlined)

So IF the poster included his email address, click the Send Email box and a New Message window will open and you can use it.

Once the New Message window's open, if you want to add the email address to your address book, just place the mouse over the email address in the "To:" line and double-click your mouse. When you do that, yet another window will open & you'll see an option to "Add to Address Book".
(Note: If you use a Netscape browser, forget all this :)
