Weed Control at fences

Has anyone used salt water and detergent spray successfully at fence lines to control weeds?.

If not, what to use that is not toxic to the ground and animals?
Thanks

If you're talking about broad leaf weeds use 2-4-D. If other weeds and grasses use Round Up. Neither are toxic to animals. Depending on how much feecning your talking about. On mine I blade it all around the property to keep a fire break. Fire is a constent problem here and so far I've stopped the fires at my fence line. Also helps keep the critters away from the fences.

I cut or clear mine too. Good way to stop fires and protect the fence lines. It is easier to clean the fence line than to put it up again. Mark H.
