Just got a dish for my TV last week, and was flipping through the channels while ago and caught a channel called RFD-TV. It is a channel devoted to rural living, and was just watching a TV show on restoring old tractors. They interviewed a guy named Dick Bockwaldt sp? from Eastern Iowa who restores them by the hundreds for a living. He showed how to restore tractors that are what he called "basket cases," literally piles of rusted out parts that get dumped into his garage, and how to tell a great tractor (which to my uneducated eye also looked like a bucket of rust) from a basket case tractor (which looked the same to me). It was really interesting. I hope some of you out there can get it. They also showed the biggest tractor in the world, (of course I could not remember the make or model before I got to the PC, DUH), but anyway, it was white and looked to be about as wide as a football field is. I was amazed. Makes me appreciate you old guys' efforts a little more. That was a heck of a lot of work he was putting into those jewels from the past.

Like so many others I also am hooked on RFD TV. Here in the Sunny State of Florida we still have a few country folks left. Although we are becoming dying breed. Are land is also disappearing at a rapid rate do to the land developers with money on the brain. Several years ago I enrolled in a Film school, and now have jumped in with both feet into filming all the changes that where going on around my small part of the World. I guess I figured if I didn't film the wet lands, the Oak forrest, Cypress swamps and everything else to do with nature, then how could our children see all these beautiful places like my 3 year old girl how could I explain to her what a Oak forrest looked like, or the sounds of the hundreds of birds over head singing out to the heavens. Even our rivers are slowly being distroied by homes being built on the river banks, then the people fertilize there lawns and then rain water washes the fertilizer into the river which causes the grass on the bottom to grow reeeeaaaal fast. The Fl game and fish commision for about the past 20 years has been spraying the weeds on the river banks to kill them. And now are fish are nearly gone. What a World we live in. The Fl Fish and Game Comm- claim all they spraying is not killing the fish, but they alway's put an Ad in the paper for people NOT TO SWIM IN THE RIVER OR EAT THE FISH FOR 2 DAY'S. What do you think. I have filmed 3 Pilot show for the Travel Channel, 3 short films. Some of the content of the Pilot Show was on this very River. I now have many hours of film on the River, the History of this town and many other small towns some of which are located on the Gulf of Mexico. They all are seeing so many changes do the exsplosion of people moving here at a high of speed and the empact it's having on the enviornment. I ask all who read this email. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE A SHOW ON FLORIDA COUNTRY LIFE AND ALL THAT'S GOING HERE, EMAIL ME? If it looks like enough of you are interrested, I'll submit a Pilot tape to RFD TV and see what we can work out. This email will most likely be active for only 40 more day's from today. 512-2002

Thanks, and God bless us all.

Yours truly

Hello all at RFDTV. I can't say enough good things about your network. I love classic tractor fever and rrelated tractor shows along with my son Eric, 9. I watch rodeos and horse programs state fairs and discussions. Your network takes me out west where I can se what true farming and true people are all about. Wish all tv was as clean and great as yours. I watch you an average of 4 hours each day before going to bed. I never got to be a farmer like I had always dreamed. However RFDTV helps take me to where the spaces are wide, open and the people are genuine and very kind and down to Earth. Thanks for being on my DISH satellite on channel 9409 RFDTV. And thanks for showing the simple ways people live and act the way God intended. sincerely, TONY PACHE, JR 6915 LAMOR RD SHARPSVILLE, PA 16150 my wife likes dog shows when they are on. And i also like seeing beautiful country gals on there as well. thanks RFDTV. TONY

I am trying to find the questionair your station has been flashing across the screen to assist in future programing, can you help. I want to make sure you guys don't go away. Thanks. Terry

I have to make a comment here, ever since you have been promoting your RFD the Magazine, that is all you guys seem to do. I am so sick of Bob Phillps and his push to promote this.

Please, watch your station, channel or what ever for just a few minutes and you will see what I mean. I almost want to never to back to your channel. The only think I do at the moment is watch the Trains and Tractors, but I can not stand to leave my TV on RFD because of your push for the magazine. Enough already. Thanks. Terry.

Too much horsey stuff.
I also can't find the survey list
I wish there was a program sked.
I like farm tractor and steam train program

Richard    Posted 09-17-2004 at 16:22:13       [Reply]  [Send Email]
I much HORSE stuff! More tractor fever with good ol' Ray W., model trains, full-size trains (steam particularly) and cool cooking shows are what I'm seeking. Plus the over-amped, bright and bushy-tailed folk on the FFA Convention! That's one of the funniest shows on TV! Can't wait for more of that...but get rid of all the horse shows! Tooo much!

charles gibson    Posted 12-31-2003 at 19:11:49       [Reply]  [Send Email]
i would like to see more train and tractor shows, and alot less horse shows. The ole steam locomotives and steam powered tractors have more to do with country living than horses

Joyce Barker    Posted 05-01-2002 at 16:16:28       [Reply]  [Send Email]
My husband and I throughly enjoy your classic
tractor shows and the classic train ones also. We had no idea these shows were on and my son kept calling from Tenn and we are in Texas but we both have dish network and he'd say antique tractors are on and hang-up because he didn't want to miss any of it. Now he doesn't have to call us we look for them all the time . How come it is not listed in the direct dish guide? Thanks for the good family shows. Joyce

RFD TV is just that, if you want to watch something else, then change channels, but leave RFD TV alone, it is great the way it is, plus which, the horse cannot be overdone.

chris bauer    Posted 04-01-2002 at 17:34:00       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Dont know if you guys know but RFD-TV's web site has been up for about 8 months now. A lot of there show info and schedule is on their site.

Dave Heikes    Posted 03-24-2002 at 19:12:22       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Is there a program schedule that I could download?

We really, no, I mean, we REALLY enjoy your station - especially the Classic Tractors! We are farm kids grown older and some of those antique tractors are machines we grew up with. Thanks for offering that. We would like to know when they are aired, however, so we can enjoy them. Thanks!! Dave and Carol Heikes, Elko, MN

Kathy Bleibaum    Posted 05-02-2002 at 20:36:28       [Reply]  [Send Email]
My husband and I love your horse/training programs, and would like to see more of them. Would also like to see programs on western pleasure ridding tips. Also more about gaited breeds for western pleasure ridding. I think with summer coming on our kids would like to see programs on how to improve their ridding skills.
Do you plan on having programs on Equine Therapy?

Thanks, Kathy Bleibaum

I have tried to watch RFDTV, but how many times can you put HORSE TV on in a day. Classic tractor is fun to watch abit a bit corney.

The only problem is every time I turn on RFDTV, horse tv is on.

Gary    Posted 10-03-2001 at 06:16:58       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Every time I try to watch the Classic Trators show, the Programming shows the Tractors show, but when I turn it on, it is not that show, some other Joe Polka or some horse show.
Can you get your act together with the programming as listed?

RFD TV has some nice shows. My daughters are always wanting to watch "Horse TV" -- even if they have to sit through some "Farm Bureau Today" to get there. I just wish RFD would have a more consistent schedule. --TW

I was REALLY shocked to see that classic tractor show's host, Ray Wilkinson. He used to be in the TV anchor for the Raleigh local channel's farm new report every day, and now his son is doing it. This station is based out of Texas, right? Guess he has moved out there now.

Tom Washburne    Posted 03-27-2001 at 07:11:44       [Reply]  [Send Email]
I can't figure out how they make their money. Perhaps they are going to get their viewership up and then pump on the commercials, but right now it is sort of like public television minus the shows highlighting the mating habits of mircro-insects. --TW

Thats it Tom! What in the heck kinda rows would those tires go through without crushing something?

Mudcat49    Posted 03-26-2001 at 05:00:09       [Reply]  [No Email]
DW, those big tractors are not for rowcrop use, but rather land prep. They pull BIG plows, disks, landlevelers, etc.

We were wondering who to talk with about getting our Rodeos on RFDTV. We really enjoy this channel and very seldon take it off of RFDTV. In our watching we have noticed how many youth rodeos that they cover. So I guess what I want is to know who to get in touch with to give our schedule and see if we can get on "TV"...........

Dear Sirs:
I recently watched your show "Gospel Sampler" in
which we saw a group called "Hearts Journey". They
were a Gospel Quartet that was unbelievably wonderful. I have tried every way to find out
how to get any music or information about them. I
cannot seem to find them anywhere. Could you help me locate some information on how to get their music.

I also want you to know how much myself and my family love your programs. Mostly, the equine and
music and farming.... well, all of it!

Very Truly Yours,
Joey Wilder
