Well guys no cigarettes yet!? but than I took two naps, helped Dennis stretch fence, dug in wastebasket once hoping to find a cigarette but quit looking, drank so much liquid you can hear me coming a mile away, I sound like a water cooler. Mood has been pretty good until I read Boss' post about not smoking. Heck I never did drugs but I would not tell that to a druggie who is trying to stay clean. Sorta felt like it was a put down but than it could just be my non-smoking mood today.

Hope you all did great and please check in so we can pat ourselves on the back and yes I am going to bed early that is why I am posting this early. I am reading a great book and I never smoked in the bedroom so I am safe.

Thanks for all the encouragement from everyone!!!!!

it ain't easy to quit, but then it's not supposed to be. the challenges we face is what keeps life interesting. never lose sight of your ultimate goal and you will get there.

Well as usual it looks like I'm the only backslider. I had part of a pack I had't finished but I did cut down to a toatl of 5 for the day instead of the usual 60 so I'm still hopeful to be completely tobacco free in short order.

Okay, i'll confess - i have a trick for cutting back. Ain't no way i can quit cold turkey but i take an empty shell (about 30 cal, .38, .357, they're all the same) carry it along and when you MUST smoke, take a few puffs and use it for a snuffer. (Then after 10 seconds in the snuffer, blow out the used smoke and they'll stay reasonably usable for the next crisis) I've been trying to keep up with you younger folks and yesterday cut from 2 pax to one. That's something..... :)

You are not a backslider just a very honest person, don't get off the train just keep riding and today maybe you will be smoke free or only have two cigarettes. Keep trying, who knows what today will bring for me. Good Luck and great going on only five cigarettes.

I didn't see Boss's post as a put down, just ignorant of the addiction. I don't mean that in a bad way, people just do not understand how it is until they have been there. It is the same with cancer, divorce, death, ect. You really don't know how I feel until you have been there. You guys are now EXsmokers, congratulations! You can only do or not do something one day at a time and you have succeded! Just do the same tomorrow and don't labor on the thoughts of what you are missing but concentrate on the sucess and the future!
