Strange wasp/hornet nest

Commonly have to destroy a couple under eave nests but new wrinkle appeared this year.A couple of nests have been built which though normal otherwise,have a 6-7 inch tube about 3/4" extending from the bottom entrance hole.Have I got some NEW type of nasty or just some wasps with a walleyed designer/foreman? Just have never seen this "tube" thing before.

I`ve seen it before but cant tell ya nothin about it . I think it`s the same bad boys in there !!! If your gona poke it with a stick be sure it`s over 6 in" long !!!!
