Horses popping fence panels

We recently moved to a farm from the city. We putup wire fence panels (hog panels} all around our horse pasture and secured them to wooden posts with fence staples. The horses are constantly popping fence panels and walking out. What can I use to keep panels in place? Obviously staples dont work.

I agree with the hot wire on the inside. We have 3 strands of electric fence which keep our horses secured in the pasture. But the dang goats escape no matter what.

Put the fence panels on the inside of the posts, then when they rub on it it won't go anywhere and the rest of the suggestions are good also.

horses like to rub things, back and forth up and down front and rear. They will rub things until they are loose and wobbly and not the scratch for their itch. I couldn't keep em in with straight field fence, they'd step on it and mash it down. Only cure I know of is as suggested below or a strand of 'lectric around the inside.

Longer staples then wire around the post .

Gary I had to share this with you, since I quit smoking my mind seems to have gone on a vacation when I read your subject I thought it read Horses pooping fence panels. I read the post and had to laugh at myself. Glad they are only popping and not pooping the fence panels.

Now that is an intersting consept, EO. Noticed on the 'tube the other nite an advertisement for "square" watermellon.....said they were easyer to package......maybe sqaure horse poop has a niche market somewhere? Kinda like the question, "what did the chicken say when it laid the square egg"? answer; "ouch"! Have a gooder, R.E.L.
