How do you deal with cobwebs?

I have visited many a farm and garden and they always seem to be neat and clean. In my good-sized condo garden it seems that the minute I clean something off, it is immediately covered with cobwebs. They are on my flowers, furniture, tools, yard decor, everything. I hesitate to spray something because I don't want to kill helpful insects. Also, if I build a tool/garden shed, what can I do to keep the cobwebs from taking over? Thanks.

You should know that "Cobwebs" are NOT spun by spiders. they are an acumulation of dust, strung togeather by air currents. Haven't you noticed, they form where there is a very gentle air flow and a good ammount of dust? Also you have never seen Cobwebs in an area that has frequent traffic. This is due to the fact that it takes some time to form this chain of dust. A spider can spin a web overnight and it has structure.

Show as little yellow and other flower colors as possible. Flying insects like flowers, spiders like the insects and yellow looks like a neon fast food sign to the spinners of cobwebs. Earthtones have less such problems. :)
