When we take our vacation, we will leave at
5 or 6 am.--all day drive. Would like to take my
own coffee from home.

Great big Coleman metal cooler, get the one with the spiggot on the end, it'll probably hold 10 gallons or more! ;p

A Vacation?
How is that possible?

Well, actually it is a weekend vacation, and since
he has to take off 2 days of work, 2 days without
pay for the week. Otherwise, we have no vacation
this year. (Hubby works 6 -10's until next
spring).

Don't know about *biggest* but the *best* is stainless steel one made by Aladdin. I got one before entering the Army about 30 years ago. It has spent many days in the field getting snowed on, dropped from towers, stood on, rolled around the floors of tracks and trucks, and despite all that it'll still keep coffee hot all day long.

The one from my truck driving day's is a 2 quart from Thermos, after a 14 hour day rolling around on the floor of the truck it would still close to hot.

Why not getcha one of those coffeemakers-to-go things? Then just carry water jugs & brew all ya want from the cigarette lighter.... :)

Army surplus, 30 gallons. Seriously, I don't know the largest but I'm sold on the pump kind for keeping it hot for the maximum time.

I looked on the net and found this site, prices are high but it will at least give you an idea. They also have that pump pot that is quite a bit larger than a termos plus I know it will not spill. I am sure you can get it less expensive someplace else.

We have a large thermos that we take and it sure saves on the coffee stops but not on the pit stops.

Also if you put Thermos in your search - be careful - the first site I opened, believe me was not about a thermos that I have ever seen, well lets put it this way I've seen it but I don't call it a thermos.

Check the description before clicking, I didn't.

Good Luck
