Supplemental feed for cows

I've got 2 steers (8 mos old) and will have 5 heifers later this week. Currently I'm giving the steers 2 lbs of beef ration per day but wondering if this is something I really need to do during the summer. The cows are on fairly good pasture and I really need to tighten the belt financially. Any ideas? Thanks

What do you got cows or steers? If your steers are on good grass and enough of it, thats all you need till it's time to finish em out to butcher. You gonna do that or have a feed lot do that. What's beef ration? Cattle cubes? Sweet feed? If you got enough grass thats all your heifers will need too. If you plan on getting a bull then keep your hefiers fat and happy in the winter by supplementing their hay with some cubes. They'll need minerals too from time to time. Hope it helps.
