Propane tank/bbq pit

i saw this on one of the other discussions about someone wanting to make a barbeque pit from an old propane tank. DO NOT cut one of them open. the responder was right. DO NOT cut one of them open. that is a bomb waiting to go off. any container that has had flammable substances in it should not even be considered for cutting open. also old barrels should be checked for prior flammable substances BEFORE being cut open. if i were to build a bbq pit i would either buy my materials from a reputable dealer or use what i had on hand that i know was free from explosive materials. be safe!

Ok, maybe it can be done but this probably ain't the place to try and explain how. So please disregard my earlier post. thanx

It can be done safely if you know how. It has to be vented first then filled with water and be full of water when you start your cut.
