I am looking for some canning jars that my friend uses and would like more of. I have the internet and would try there. She cans pears and peaches in them and one can is just right for most of her cooking. I would like to get more but the stores around here don't have them. I here that ball doesen't make them any more. If any one could help with anything that would be great! Thanks ED

I'm searching for 1 1/2 pt jars for my mom. I talked with the (formerly) Ball people and they confirmed that Ball doesn't make that size any more. So now I'm looking for Kerr in that size. Still having trouble. Any thoughts?

If you are referring to ball wide mouth 1 1/2, in old Ball Blue Canning books they are referred to as freezer jars. I have a couple of dozen that I bought probably 20 years ago at a farm auction in MO. They are very handy.

Hi Ed,
Most of the jars here are made by Kerr. I like Ball and Mason, but don't see them much any more. I am familar with the small decorative jars for preserves, etc, but not in 1 and 1/2 pint size. Is your jar large mouth or regular? Is it decorative or plain? There is no shortage of jars in the local Winn Dixie grocery and Walmart, but nearly all are by Kerr. I'll take a look the next time I'm in either. Later.
