The doggy dip question below triggered a
memory of dipping sheep into a distinctive
smelling liquid. I have never smelled any
product like it in my 60+ years. Wet creosote
and blacktop mix don't come close. Anyone?

Creasote was a major part of dip at least befor WWll.

From my myopic point of view there's a similarity betwwen the smell of sheep dip and many politicians. They both exude an unpleasant odor.

Much of the old sheep dip was laced heavily with malathion, it has a very distinct and unpleasant odor, it also killed most bugs know to man and several not known to man.
