Y'all...I think it could be of interest to you that apparently the stay put on the ruling that the Pledge of Allegiance is unconstitutional because of the "under God" words was primarily a public relations ploy to defuse the anger. Here's what I got in an e-mail being circulated, with a link below to a page where you can electronically sign a petition if you like.

********** Excerpt from e-mail **********

* * * * WHAT REALLY HAPPENED. . .

Within a few days of the ruling, one of the 9th Circuit judges issued a "stay" which supposedly put the ruling banning the Pledge of Allegiance from our schools on hold for 45 days.

Up until that point, Americans were in an uproar, but the "stay" diffused public opinion -- just as the judge, perhaps, intended.

In reality, the "stay" had little practical legal impact because the ruling was automatically on hold for 52 days!

It appears the "stay" was a public relations ploy, and it worked! Just as the 45 day holding period is about to expire, public pressure has all but disappeared.

********** End of e-mail excerpt *********

Here's the address, with link below....

This is located on the web site for the Center For Reclaiming America, who are the people wanting to submit the petition.

Could be that somebody realized, you cannot put indisible, and under God in the same sentence. It just doesn't work well. It never has.
