Pickling banana peppers

Does anybody have a recipe for "cold" pickling banana peppers, or for that matter processing them in a hot bath? I tried pickles and they came out mushy. I want a recipe that will leave my peppers crunchy. A recipe was given to me calling for vinegar, water, saccharin, alum, salt and salicylic acid. This recipe is a cold pickle. I have tasted the peppers pickled this way and they were great. I have a question about the salicylic acid especially when i tried to purchase it at a local drug store and it was pointed out that it is an ingrediant in Compound W used to remove warts?????? Any good recipes will be appreciated as i have a BUNCH of peppers that need to be processed, Thanks, Kit

We pickled 38 pints several days ago using a sweet bread and butter receipe. Just slice the peppers into rings and add about 1/4 amount of onions to peppers and follow the B and B pickle directions, They are great. Been making them for years.

Thanks hillbilly. Might give em a try. I really don't care for b+b pickles, but there might be a diff. with the peppers.

I`ve never pickled anything before, but would like directions on how to pickle mild banana peppers, thanks, Joe
