Hummingbird feeder question

Ok, this is WAAAAY off topic, but here goes:

I had some hummingbirds hanging around the yellow electric fence insulators, so since I didn't want to fry them I put up a hummingbird feeder. I followed the instructions with the feeder, boiled water and mixed in sugar about 4:1. It works, they seem to love it and I've gone from one bird periodically to now 3 hanging around all the time.

My question is this: is there any kind of supplement I need to put in the sugar water? If this is all they're eating (they seem to sit here all day now) do they need anything else? I don't want to make them sick or something.

I can work on computers or run a farm, but I don't know squat about hummingbirds! I just put up the feeder to keep them from getting zapped and now they've adopted me! Do I need to give them anything besides sugar water?

Tnx,
Kerry
PS I got a couple of fuzzy digital pix, I'll try to post one.

They eat small insects on the wing, as well as sucking nectar from the flowers. They'll do fine on your offering. Or you can spend more money to get the expensive humming bird feed whish is sugar and food coloring!

They should do just fine one what you've given them. Make sure you don't leave the stuff out there more than a few days as it will go bad.

It doesn't last that long anymore! The first batch I put out lasted 8 days, now it's lasting about 4 days.

Thanks for the link, it looks like it has a lot of good info. Yes, I am involved with computers, or was until I got laid off a couple of months ago! Know anybody around the Dallas-E. TX area who needs a computer geek? ;-)

Thanks for all the good info, guys I won't sweat giving the birds an un-balanced diet. They just seemed like they were spending the whole day here at my feeder! Too bad they're not big enough to eat some of these grasshoppers around here...
