Don't stop him. Get him to turn another way or do a different dance. It's 94 and dry as a bone here. Cloudy and thunder for the last 2 days, but NO rain!

Actyoually, we was loggin in the Krumholz. Now, you may not be familiar with that term but you can look it up. That is virgin timber, some of the very little that is left in the world. Most loggin around these parts is done during the winter so's things are froze up and you don't stave everything up.
Krumholz loggin is done in the summer, since there's permafrost just a few inches under the surface anyway. The yaks we used was well acclimated to the climate and the terrain, bein natives of the High May Layer mountains themselves. The day we got inta trouble, ole Killer was runnin a triple hitch of yaks. He had a big hitch of Krumholz on and was heading down the mountain when the whippletree tug broke. That whippletree jumped right up and whacked the off yak in the rump and the whole hitch of um veered right off over a cliff and thus ended the great yak loggin experiment in North America.
About that time, that August storm hit and the rest, as they say, is history.

When I was a kid in North Dakota we had a real hot August one year. We also had a dumb dog. It got so hot that the popcorn we were raising in the garden started to pop, the dog got into the garden, saw the mounds of white popcorn, thought it was snowing and froze to death.
