A FEW GOOD THINGS ABOUT YANKEES

1 Our dirt roads are way older than your dirt roads.
2 We never did learn to say "yall".
3 We never got hungry enough to have to eat grits.
4 We're just too fat and slow to catch our sisters.

I love it Maggie, I go through this every day on the CB while driving truck. I am not offended until I feel that you got the best of me.

I wouldn't say it's the most beautiful place on the face of the earth, don't want to boast lol,but yes,it is enchanting actually. It has its bad side like everywhere else. I've traveled a bit and seen many wonderful places, and would give [almost]anything to gather a bit from here and a bit from there and build my own little paradise, but we know it doesn't work that way.
...but I love your idea about trading homes for 8 months !!

You forgot to put in a "good" word about my New York Yankees baseball team - the "best" baseball team money can buy; owned by King George the tyrant supreme.

I live in the North,,,North Georgia that is, we have alot of what I call half-backs here in these parts, people that moved from the north to Florida and decided to go back home and wound up here, they only got half way back, I dont have a problem with anybody in particular and I understand someone that doesn't want to be cold or hot all year, but it makes me mad when they start comparing this place to their beloved North, anyone who is of age can live where they choose and this is where I choose, if someone doesn't like it move on, I had a good friend who happened to be a half-back but since has moved back to Fla. for his wife's health, we could sit and talk for hours on end because we both got a kick outta the way the other talked. LOL

Bob - You really are a NORTHERN Yankee up in the Province of Ontario. From where you live I must be considered a down South Yankee here in the "tropics" of NYC.

You are right Joe, that's all the old folks ever called you people down there. But I'm not a Northern Yankee I'm a feriner:<).

the good things are very few.
1. Er, wasn't Georgia one of the original thirteen?
2. We can't understand anything you folks say, y'all or otherwise. Yankees rarely say anything important anyway.
3. You ain't never had cathead bisquits, home smoked ham, redeye gravy and hot grits on a frosty morning at daylight. Drop in at the Smokehouse Restaurant in Monteagle, TN.
4. I've seen a few wives that the northern boys were able to catch. I'm right glad I stayed skinny so I could out run that bunch.

Heck I'm fat and I think the looks of most of them gals up there would make me catch a second wind and still git away.

The closest thing to hearing and seeing a bunch of yankees talking I can think of is a flock of blackbirds lit in a pasture. You can't understand a thing they say and you go toward them to try and make it out,and the whole bunch up and flys away.

I don't understand how yall git so big with the food you have to eat.I wouldn't weigh 200 pounds if I lived up there cause my stomach would have thought my throat had been cut.

I have always heard from yanks that the southern boys was sweet on their cousins.Well I'm 44 and in all my wandering aroud, the only ones I have ever heard of that partook in that was folks that was transplants from up there.Go figure.Must be a yankee thing after all.

Smile. You might as well cause yall know I'm right.
