I love the fair. Hadn't ever been to one until maybe a dozen years ago, after we moved to Frederick county Maryland. We went one day out of the week long Fair, and saw everything briefly. The next year, we went a couple of times. Now we go every day and don't get bored...what a wonderful time of year. It is like Christmas, except the crowds aren't rude.

We watch the 4H kids with their various projects, food, all the animals, machinery, food, quilts, canned goods, food, just have a great time. Wish I'd discovered the Fair when I was a kid.

I can't wait to move to the country. The big thing at our state fair is usually the shootings.

Ya know what gripes me about fairs?? Ron/Pa    Posted 08-30-2002 at 05:53:21       [Reply]  [Send Email]
every time they have the antique equipment area it looks like the equipment line on our farm!
Do they do that just to tick us off???
Also the kids, they should not allow kids to go to fairs or amusement parks, they really annoy us old goats who know how to have fun,,(grin) just kiddin honest I am,,

Mornin Tom. We missed the county fair the last two years. When we can get a youngun or two, we always go. but, without a neice or nephew or grandchild, it's not near as much fun for us. Altho, I really miss the souped up garden tractor pull. A 12 yr. old girl won the last time we went. Have fun for me! Rachel PS Guess everyone else is too tired from typing yesterday and all the emotional rollercoasters to get up and join us, huh?

Yep, everyone must have slept in--too much energy expended. I missed all that excitement, I had checked in yesterday morning and it was quiet but WOW what a day it turned out to be.

oh well, enjoy today!

I have been on IRC since 5 AM (with time out to get the family up and off for the day)...I just find the BBS format wayyyy too slow for someone with 2 pots of coffee in their system LOL
