I relize that depending on where in the country you live this is a loaded guestion. I live in Nebraska and my wife and I are planning on building a house on 20 acres. Question... About how much should we plan on spending for the well and septic system?? thankyou for any info...

In Central Minnesota our new well at 128 feet deep with tank and all the fixings was 3200$ and that was the cheap quote. for the new mound last year i paid 10,000$ for a two tank system and drain field for a three bedroom home. One contractor wanted 14000$ The county and state forced me to upgrade the septic cause of the new bedroom for the baby girl, that little oops really added up fast. Well worth it though!

Down here in Texas it varies, but my 500' well cost about $14,000 including tank and pump. My septic is aerobic and was $5300.

When we had our well drilled in 1995, it was priced by the foot. It was about $7 a foot down to about 500-600'. If the well was to be more than that, the price went up to about $11 a foot. Deeper than the 500-600 foot level, they have to use steel pipe instead of plastic. Our well was 920 feet deep. With drilling, pump, pressure tank, etc. it was about $13,000.

The septic system will depend on the type: standard leech field or infiltrators. Our septic for a 4400 sq. ft house with infiltrators was about $3,500.

You have a 4400 square foot house? Good Grief! sounds like a hotel to me.

It's really a 2200 SF house over a 2200 SF storage area called a basement. But it does have 4 bathrooms. I gotta have one in the basement when the need arises! :^)

Good idea Danny, I have one in my utility room, just in case of an "emergency" I can go in there without removing my boots.

Mike, I had a well and septic system installed this past fall. Water was found at 415 feet and at a price of $4500.00 including the pump, pump house and all the extras. The septic system was $3200. Both take care of a hunting camp as well as the caretakers home. Best Regards, Doc

Here in this part of GA, a typical 4" well is $1850-$2300 and septic system is $1500-$2000.

The average well is 60ft.

Well(lol) the well will depend on where u r and how high the water table is. I live 1/2 mile from Lake Okeechobee and a 2" well here cost $500.00.
The septic system depends on the sq footage of the house and how many people are living there. I'm sure that u can talk to people in the area and get a answer.
