I (and my mom) was in Ladysmith on Tuesday and helped clean up. SOOooo glad no one was killed. I'm from Amery JoeK if you get this message! We helped clean up after the Siren tornado last June 2001. I have friends in Ladysmith and their house was okay thank goodness.

Thoughts and prayers are with you JoeK!

...the tornado rolling into houses peelin off roofs, no time to yell anything to anybody.I read it destroyed the town water tower, damaged churches, wereaked havoc on phone lines and sent hundreds of ppl to shelters.Thank God there were no deaths. At least our huricanes invite themselfs in advance, giving us the chance to 'prepare'.The only good thing out of these experiences is that it pushes us to acknowledge, again and again that we are human beings ,vulnerable to the unexpected, obliged to be solidary with our neighbor.Help one another.A Huricane has teach me a thing or two.We are not done eh? I can only give you internet support.

Later Joe

JoeK sorry to hear about the misfortune, as Ron/PA asked is everything okay on your property? The sad thing is when anything like that hits it shows no mercy and there is nothing that can be done. Been through a few hurricanes and floods and it is a helpless feeling.

Thoughts and prayers are being sent to Ladysmith WI.

Joe, best of luck on your cleanup, I hope that you did not take too hard of a hit on your own property. Keep us posted/

No damage to this corner of town,other than a few small branches off trees.Thankfully(grimace)majority of major damage was in business district,rather than residential.Lost a convenience store,water tower,church and a half,jiffy lube,feed mill,youth center,several roofs/vehicles.Minor casualties only,No deaths.
As usual in rural communities, people opened their homes, businesses, hearts to victims,Red Cross
and Salvation Army on site.Disaster area is "closed",armband needed for legitimate entry.Police/Service agenciees from as far as 100mi away are providing assistance to this little community. Most everything is proceeding in a relatively orderly manner. For the People of Ladysmith..THANK YOU for YOUR THOUGHTS and PRAYERS!

Great to see how a small community pulls together
and how so many are willing to help surrounding
the area. Prayers are with you all in rebuilding!
