I live in Amery, JoeK, and my mom and I came and helped on Tuesday with the cleanup. Sooo glad to hear that things are proceeding. I took a vacation day on Tues to help. I just wish I could help some more this week. I guess they had more than enough volunteers though, maybe would have turned me away the rest of the week. Glad to hear that there are so many nice country folks around Wisconsin. I have friends also in Ladysmith. Their house just lost a window.

Thoughts and prayers are with you JoeK.

Thanx CG,Tuesday was hectic and some people wanting to hep were "turned away" because main area was still unsafe, streets still blocked etc, parameters needed to be established and help/work crews organized.A tremendous amt of work was done Tuesday,w/hundred of tons of debris removal accomplished.Wednesday(today)some deadfall bldgs were razed, streets cleared somewhat.Any outside help still needed and appreciated.Believe fairgrounds is current volunteer marshalling point. If nothing else,a wheelbarrow/bucket and rake team can help homeowners. The amount of small debris is staggering, for the elderly/infirm...heck everybody!

That's right Dennis. I figgered our news was all screwed up as usual. They did finally say on the midnight news last nite there was a path 4 blocks wide and 14 blocks long completely destroyed up at Joes. They never did say about lives or injuries.

If ye live through something like that it'll be alright- ever thing else can be replaced or done with out.

Ma Burr and me lost 1 house to fire and 1 to floods in 32-33+ years.

It aint no shame to get knocked down, it's just an outright sin when ye won't git back up tho.
