Now that Donna and I are on different shifts, I thought that I would put the crock pot to work and have something ready when she gets home.
I went to the crock pot web page (almost 6000 recipes) and picked out one that I had the stuff for. Then I took out the stuff that I don't like and put in stuff I do like and threw it in the pot.
Am I dead meat when I wake up and Donna gets home? Is it some kind of mortal sin to change a womans recipe??
Well perhaps a bit more sherry, and I'll eat in a truck stop tonight!!!!!!
On the other hand, if I get any grief, I'll sell her manure spreader!!!
G'nite
Ron

The trouble with cooking from a recipe is that you will never make the dish any better!

create new and wondrus dishes only by expermentin. Ya take a dab'a this'n a gob'a that'n some tother stuff'n throw it all in tha pot'n cook it DON"T BURN IT. Ya stir it, Ya taste it, Ya don't likew it, Ya dump in some other somthin ta make it taste differant. Pretty soon if Ya live long nuff Ya'll have a tasty dish OR Ya just discretely fling it out on tha compost pile'n start over.

I firmly believe the best cooks NEVER measure beyond dabs, gobs, smidgens ad infawhatchmacallit

Anyways, She'd oughta be plumb pleased!!!

: ) Donna will be so HAPPY!    Posted 09-04-2002 at 15:24:23       [Reply]  [No Email]

NO it was a great thing to do, don't listen to the guys on this one. As long as you put liquid in so that it doesn't burn you will have no problem. Dennis can cook all he wants and change my recipes all he wants, they may even taste better. The only reason he says you made a mistake is because the one thing he does cook, which I cannot do for some reason, is the best ever fried eggplant.

Now just slice up some stuff for a salad, stick it in a ziplock back, without dressing, it will last be stay fresh, just don't cut the lettuce pull it apart otherwise it will be brown.

You are done dinner, salad, sherry, and oops take out sherry.

TAKE OUT SHERRY???? AIN'T TOUCHIN THAT ONE!!! Ron    Posted 09-04-2002 at 14:02:19       [Reply]  [No Email]

I'd give you points for trying! As long as it wasn't a recipie she makes you should be okay. NEVER change a womans recipie unless you want to see some real fire!

Hi Ron,
I have found out through many years of being married that we (Men)(husbands) are always wrong when it comes to decision making.
Best of luck with the dinner idea and I would suggest never change anything a wife has set up.

S____y helps to remove the sting.
