A few days ago I was helping my neighbor build a shed. which that doesn't happen often anymore, working w/ out pay. We took a break and heard skiding tires, a thud, and a horn. We sat a minute and the horn kept beeping. So I went to see what happened. I drove a mile behind two other cars and right before a curve saw a truck upside down in the ditch. The two in front kept going( can't be late for work). I stopped and looked inside a women said see was really trapped.I ran for help as my neighbor pulled up. Across the road the people said they didn't hear a thing! I heard it a mile away and they didn't hear. What is wrong with people do they think being on time for work or some t.v. show is more important then a persons life? This is a sad way to live.

Good Man Shawn!

Keep it up.
Glad to see you are on the right track.
I am not a 'religious' person, but helping one another is what I think we are here for.
That is the highest calling we can aspire to...

The best epitaph I ever saw is in a graveyard in Nova Scotia on the edge of a cliff overlooking the ocean.

"Here lies a Good Man...He made life easier for others"

Hand written in a hand poured concrete 'poor-mans' headstone...

Hi Shawn,
I think the question should be "What is wrong with SOME people"

Sho don't look like it's getting better any time soon!

My Uncle said they were traveling and came upon some cars stopped at an intersection. The car in front had stalled. The guy behind was blowing his horn. Uncle said the lady got out of the stalled car and said to the guy blowing "I got an idea. I'll sit back here and blow your *%&#ing horn while you start my car!"

People have been full of themselves for a long time Shawn. That's why "Good Samaritan" laws are there. It sounds backwards but do something more selfish than yelling obscenities - help people so YOU'LL sleep better! :)

After growning up in the country, i always stopped to help people, regardless of what my schedule was. One time we were on our way to Disneyland and an Indian family had a flat tire in the fast lane. Traffic was backing up so we parked in front of their car. The poor fella kept trying to apologize to the rude passersby, and i kept saying ignore them & asking him to get another tool. We finally got the thing changed and eveybody was on their way again. He couldn't believe i wasn't a fireman or something.... told him i'd rather owe a man all my life than be in debt to him.
(ps: it really don't matter why, just help when ya can - we shouldn't need a reason :)

I got everyone beat here !!!!!!

One day this guy gave me this sob story about how his car broke down and he had to get to work. He had the keys to the office and nobody could work until he got there, and could I give him a ride. I said sure, and we hopped in my truck and I drove him downtown to where he works.
When I got back home there were a bunch of cop cars driving up and down my street, I stopped one and asked what was going on....
To make a long story short, I gave the guy a GETAWAY RIDE !!!!!!!!! He robbed a dentists office.
Man did I feel stupid. AND to make matters worse, the detective that came to interview me
used to work for me years ago.

I was over at Hammond, La and ever body was squawking on the CB about a drunk man laying on the east bound side of I-10.

When I got up to where he was I stopped and a feller driving along behind me without a CB stopped. It was dark and the feller behind me stopped to see if I had trouble. He went on to the weigh station and sent a cop back.

When I got up to the drunk, he was'nt drunk. He told me he had picked up 2 clean cut looking kids at Slydell and they had car jacked him.

He had been stabbed 17 times in the chest and stomach and they had cut out his left eye.

He bled to death right there telling me things to tell his wife and children while we waited on an ambulance. He was falling apart too bad to load him in the truck and carry anywhere.

It still gives me chills to know that people will take time to BS on a CB or cell phone about somebody but they won't take one second to actually check it out or call a cop.

Man, that story is a buzz kill.
even with those kinds of stories, I'll still go out of my way to help out another.
