At the end of the day today the steers were auction off. Shelby got 1.30 a lb on the hoof for it! So it got bought for $1,794.00 by the Cattle Womans Assoiation in the auction. People bid on the steers the kids bring at the end. This was real good for her because she wants to buy this cow from Ohio and have it trucked out here. It is a registerd Long Horn. It's her money and her cows. She has been staying at the fair till 8:30+ at night for 4 days so far taking care of the steer. Tomorrow is the last day and the steer goes with the new owner. Been a real experiance for her and my wife and I and turned out great! Been some long days but worth every minuite of it!! Mark H.

I've never been in that type situation. I bet it's hard to give up an animal you spent so much time working on. That's good money though!

This is one of the reasons she did this steer. She knew from day one it would sell but wanted to do it anyway. She wants to raise them for a living and understands this is how it is done you can't keep the steers and the Cows make more. Mark H.

The regular auctions the sell livestock at are giving around .65 to .70 a lb for Beef! They do this one for the kids to make back what they have put into the animal. Now for the ranchers they only let you break even or lose raising Cattle!! Mark H.
