I've been working on getting out of the farrowing business of hog farming.I know it sounds funny, but you can't quit something like this cold turkey.Right Hogfarmer?? Well anyway I thought I would farrow my sows one last time before I sell them. Since these are only second litter sows I really didn't want to sell them to the packer right away,so I found a neighboring farmer to buy them. The deal we made was he was going to sell his old stock off and I was going to sell him mine at whatever he got for his. He came and got the boar today and the price was only 4 a pound. Wouldn't that make a grown man cry?

The boar eats,,,,, times ,,,,, equals,,,,,
Less coffee, beer, and sherry breaks,,,,,,,
Looks like a real good time to get out,,
Congratulations, your a winner!!!

Right now they smell pretty bad. Looks like I'm shoveling corn and hog poop for nothing this summer.

I see I got your name wrong in my post.Sorry about that.

4 a pound isn't as bd as a few years ago. I got 2 a pound for the boar I sold then. I don't think I ever got that first miilion dollars spent on the hog business. I'll have to find something else to spend it on now.
