We remember a bunch of posts earlier, maybe 6 months ago? The topic was how to recycle old 12 volt batteries. There were several products spoken of. I been looking in the archives for the info, but come up short.

There are five heavy duty batteries stored on our farm. They are dead. I'd sure like to be able to get more life out of them if possible. Any of you put dead batteries back to life?

Some guy was talking about using coke in 'em to clean 'em out. I thought it was on the tool talk or tractor forum.

Well best to take them to a used-battery guy - they have some super-chargers that get them pretty hot and the big juice melts the crud out. They can tell yu if they're worth fiddling with. :)

VX-6 used to work too, except that without the crud, the thinned plates sometimes warped and shorted against the next one.
