I am trying to find the cent sign on my 'puter, yaknow like the dollar sign cept more like my paycheck.
I have seen it used in posts here, re:hog prices and such, and I'm wondering what I have to go through to get the secret sign of this board?
Driving me nuts, thanx

This does not work on my computer. I have a HP Pavilion, and when I hold down the ALT key and strike 4 1 1 all it does is start a HP Introduction to the computer program. Any other suggestions? I would like to be able to make a cent sign, but haven't figured it out yet. Please email me direct if you have a step by step process that works. Thank you.

Wow, the things you learn on this board! I had wondered forever how to make a cent sign. Thanks! Not only does this message board serve as a soap opera, now it is my computer guru as well.

I second that !!    Posted 09-16-2002 at 14:53:43       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Hi Donna, you're so right,I feel the same way you do,I'm learning a lot about farming also:-)

Guess I can't give anyone my 2 cents worth either cause I can't find that symbol on my keyboard either! Never noticed that before! Have to ask the kids; they will know.

˘˘˘˘˘˘˘ On my keyboard I hold down the Alt. then push the $/4 key. I think this feature was only intended for use by hog farmers. We never have a use for the $ sign. Just the ˘ sign.:-)

Larry you might need it if you are talking about the cost of feed.

I assume your using some version of windows and a qwerty keyboard. Laptops can be a little tricky, you have to figure out how to use the numlock.

Hold down the alt key, then press in sequence on the number pad (the row of numbers at the top of your keyboard will not work) 0162.

Once again: holding down ALT- press 0 1 6 2, then you can let off alt.

result should be: ˘

Good luck,

Thank you, Thank you, a million times thank you. I sell on E-Bay and I need that fraction and always did it the only way I knew how 1/2 - you will make me look very good.

No problem, glad y'all are lookin' techno savvy now.

Always happy to trade an ounce of technical knowledge for a pound of farmin' know how. I wish I was as good at building things as I am at computers.

Patria™....It works!!! :-)    Posted 09-16-2002 at 09:57:45       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Thanks Swamphandy!

Last week I had to send my Bacalaitos recipe to a friend and couldn't find the key to write the fractions for the amounts of the ingredients.

10˝ tons of thanks!
Take Care!

Ron maybe it's only on old computers built before they rounded all prices off to the next highest $10.00, when their selling that is.
