Anyone know if one can buy straw in Sounthern Arizona? Building a house South of Kinman and would like to buy building straw nearby.

you have to wait until next June to buy straw at below a retail price from the feed stores. At that time go to Parker (maybe) or Wellton (east of Yuma) I know that there will be straw availble there next june.

What with the drought straw could be hard to come up with this year.
Get in touch with a granary and find out who is bringing wheat, rye, or oats.

DeadCarp - strawbales?    Posted 09-22-2002 at 08:40:42       [Reply]  [No Email]
I've been thinking about using straw bales too - i like the idea of rolling the bales in concrete before they're positioned - only i'd like to rig a square baler to tie a really short bale first. Might line up the vertical rebar roof "bolts" to fit between every other course. Let us know how it works out. :)

I`m assuming you mean Kingman? Have you checked with any feed and farm supply places? Even Parker isn`t that far away that if you had to you could get it there. Needles Ca. is a rather large ag area that isn`t far off either and might have what you require.
Good luck on you Straw hunt!!!!!
