Went to the Cowboy Trade Day today

Today was the semi-annual Cowboy Trade Day held at Claremore, OK. Couldn't have asked for a better day, and there was plenty of great stuff to choose from. Came home with some neat cedar picture frames, and a lot of horse tack. Had fun listening to some of the cowboy poetry and singing. Fell in love with a mule named Clementine, and had to be pried away from her (she wouldn't fit in the Mazda). My husband said if the guy has a lay-away plan I can have her, lol. Not sure what the horses would think about that.

Does anyone have a similar event held near you?

Hay saddlebum Hurley had a turn out didn't he. That was the biggest yet. Idin't get to go we had a weeding here at the barn and we had set up camp and cook with the chuck wagon. To much going on. The last weekend in sept a big one in Mo. And 19oct02 in Ark.

Hi Coaltrain! He sure did have a turnout--couldn't stir 'um with a stick. They put a flyer on our windshield for an event at Stillwater on Oct. 26-27, the Cross Timbers Music and Heritage Festival, that sounds like it would be a lot of fun, too.

Your chuckwagon and cook wasn't John Farmer, by any chance, was it? He is super and has cooked for us at several of our "Bad Girls" trailriding club events.

Where is the one in Arkansas going to be held? It might be close enough for us to get to!

The one in Ark is 12 mi. south of Siloam Springs Ark on hiway 59. It is a cowboy and cowgirl gatheren, ranch horse and mule sale poetry, dutch oven cook off, and traden. Are you far from Cmore. We own a place called the Prairie Rose my wife and run the Chuck Wagon. Cook here or on the trail do weedings and celebrations here in the barn 1870. Coaltrain

We're about 70 miles east of Claremore, near Tahlequah. Siloam is real close for us, in fact, so I'm going to put that one on the calendar. Where is the Prairie Rose located? And are ya'll entering the dutch oven cookoff at Arkansas? Sounds like lots of fun! 'Preciate the information, Coaltrain.
