I think I was misunderstood

When I posted my message about spam/e-mail, I was in no way saying that it came from someone on this board. I was just saying that it had happened, wondered why, and if there was something I should do. I am not computer savvy, and it made me worry about a virus also.

Please accept my apology to Tammy, or anyone else that I might have offended. It was not my intent.
I DO think that the contact list was a good idea. I would never think that someone here would be like that, but I also know that there are lurkers and such.

I just reply to spam with something like "I've forwarded your email to Osama Bin Laden - now maybe we'll both get something we didn't want" :)

Jamo,
You did not upset me in anyway! I did get the SPAM also and I replied to the e-mail I had gotten so everyone that the e-mail had been sent to got my smart mouth reply. So was not intend to "you" but the sender of the email. Wow, I am sure that I must have fussed at many with reply of mine oh well "family" forgives in most cases!
Have a wonderful day!
Tammy

Your way of dealing with that SPAM is like most of us deal with it. It reminds me of a road I heard about, in Montana, called Dead Horse Road. It seems that someone's horse got out on the road, was hit and died. Well owning up and moving the horse would have been costly. So folks just drove around it keeping well to the right. And for a while it just smelled so the road around it was pretty wide. After a while the critters cleaned it up and eventually weeds and wildflowers just grew up there and eventually in the middle of this two lane country road there was this little christmas tree ornament shaped island in the road. In the big city they call them safety islands. In the country we know that they are economic survival tactics.
Keep working at it EIEIO. We'll make it yet in spite of those porno people.

When I get e-mail from someone I do not know I never open it, I just block the address so it doesn't continue. The e-mail I use automatically checks for a virus but I still don't trust it. It seems that spam runs in cycles. For a couple of months I will get nothing and than boom spam is coming out of my ears. I get very upset with the porno spam and the problem is they change one number on the return address and keep sending it. I know there are programs you can install to prevent it but everytime I install something I goof up another program. I am not computer literate either, in fact my favorite key is the delete key which drives Dennis nuts because he always has to fix my computer. It can be a real pain but I guess like anything else you have to take the good with the bad.

Have a great day!
