Nathan you are tugging at my heartstrings now because commercial vehicles is one of my favourite subjects. Mitsubishi Motors Australia has it's headquaters located about 2-3 miles from where I live. They still have diesel pickups. Down here we call them "Utes" which comes from utility. We have big utes & small utes. We also have the largest Motor Museum in the southern hemisphere. I could carry on all day and waste valuable space on this board, but I won't. I would however be delighted to tell you all I know, so by all means, please email me and I'll get back to you with all the stuff on Utes, Trucks and other things rural.
Best wishes

Craig, are you located in Port Melbourne? I'll be at Hawker-de Havilland next week for quite a while.

I like trucks too Craig, always have, used to always watch bonanza to see the chevvy truck commercials. And I watched Maverick to see the jeep commercials. Boy those were the days, a man could actually buy something nice if he had the money. Everything comes to an end though, now that I can afford a new one, who wants one, so many things about the new ones I don't like. I refuse to change won't even compromise so I will continue to patch up my old junk.

magpie, I was just starting to like the HD Chevy trucks in the 4 door model. Then they changed the front end grill area. It looks like a catgut with the stank slung out of it now. That ought to boost the sales for Ford and Dodge.

I looked at one of them boogers the other day.

It was nice but I don't know about that aluminum throwaway diesel engine.

Yes Sir, I was thinking about the 6.0 gas if I bought one.

That fire in the Chibbie logo was cool.

I patch wore out vehicles too. That's how come I still got a 86 and 91 model Ford pickups.

When I looked at the new pu's they all got computered diesel motors. I would'nt trade my 86 F250 for a new one like it.

Don't blame ya a darn bit Burr. I just got a newer pickup a few months ago got a 92 Dodge, reason I got that is cause it still has the drip rail on the roof, very important here. But I really don't like it, drives funny motor dosen't run evenly, dealer says it is the clutch. ( what an idiot) don't care for the 5 speed prefer the 4 speed. It has a vacuum disconnect on the front axle rather than hubs, how silly and probably very trouble prone. And to top it off they put the dimmer swith on the turn signal lever, what an inconvenience. I still got my old 70 so if I ever get time to do some major rust repair I'm getting rid of this newer one.
