A friend of mine recently gave me a lot of molds for ceramics. Can anyone tell me how to go about getting started. I've never cast my own before. Thanks

Hi Penny,

Have you tried your local community college?

Look in your yellow pages of phone book (perhaps
of larger cities) under Ceramic supplies, I believe. These places should sell slip to pour into the molds, sell molds, paints, brushes, etc.
If you find such a business, then perhaps they
can head you in the right direction.
I know the slip has to set in the mold a while,
held closed with rubber band, then mold removed,
so the greenware dried to bisque (dries). Then
bisque has to be fired in kiln.

Thanks for the tip. I'll see what I can find.
