Hello everyone, I have been a lurker since I came upon this site about a month ago. And finally decided to just say hello and just see what happens. I am a transplanted WV native living in NC for the work. Born and raised on a farm until I was 20. I had to move out for personal reasons.
I still miss the life and hope to get back to the basics eventually.

I have read most of the posts and seems like there are a lot of good folks here, and just wanted to say hello.

So, HELLO EVERYONE

Hello to you too. This is my first day at this site. I'm newly transplanted tending to my father and his property, same state but up beyond the snow line. I'm looking forward to making some online penpals here - good people with good ideas.

Hi Kevin and all. I'm pretty much a lurker around here too. Somebody sent me the site and I find it is habit forming. LOL! I live in what some would consider the country but it isn't really - it's just in the county outside of a small town in the Houston area. I can relate to raccoon and possum problems and owls getting my kittens, but the only livestock I have are cats and one dog. We've had goats and rabbits in the past, though.
This is a really good bunch of folks here and I've learned a lot and had a lot of laughs.
To introduce myself, I am 53, married and have a boy 21 and a girl 19 and like to hang around folks who can disagree and still be nice to each other, so this is a very comfortable spot. Hope ya'll don't mind me hanging around. :)

Hey Kevin, Welcome, glad you stopped by. Are you sure you remember all the things about the farm?
Well you can't get much cyber atmosphere here, but you can get enough bull to make ya want to go get the loader,,,,,
Stop by often, it's a good place to get back to the country even when you're not there.
Ron

Hey Kevin:

Welcome, glad to have you in the neighborhood. Since you grew up on a farm, I expect you'll be able to help some of us 'newbies' to farming with some of our stupid questions! Glad you're here.

I haven't been here long either, but I love it. These folks have a wonderful sense of humor and a lot of knowledge, so it's a good place to visit.

Hi Kevin,
Kick off yer barn boots and dangle a toe - this is as good a place as any to keep your feet wet. What was your favorite part of country living? What do you miss most?
