Does anyone know how many lbs of apples it takes to make a gallon of cider? (We plan on making more than one gallon.) We are going to try making cider, but need to know how many apples to get.

Dad useta say that there should be at least 3 gallons to a bushel.
Just a hint: don't buy apples. If possible, go out somewhere and get two or three different kinds of wild ones and mix them together. After you squeeze it, then let it sit out on the porch in the sun for a few days before drinking. That is what cider should taste like.
