I have an old Planet Jr planter and want to plant about an acre of sweet corn next year. I contacted the manufacturer and they don't recomment using it to plant corn. Has anyone tried one and what success did you have?

Thanks
Bob G

Have only used mine once or twice. Found out that the plates for corn have too big of holes for some of the varieties of sweet corn and allow two kernels to drop in the same spot. Also, not really very much control of depth. You can push it too hard and get seeds too deep. I would not plant a whole acre without doing some experimenting to see if you get the results you want beforehand.

They work fine. The only agravating part about it is that with a Planet Jr you don't have a fertilizer distributer on it.
