To paint or not to paint

I have accumulated some old metal toys over the years, and I was considering painting them. Would that be the right thing to do or would it compromise the integrety of the item. Any opinions?

Just clean them off Dan, they will be worth more as is if you ever want to sell them.

Do not paint them, if they are really old. They
will bring top dollar that way.
My dad had an auction. The unpainted metal
cars, unpainted metal motorcycle, and an original rocking horse from the 1800's with a rag for a tail brought in the top dollars. (I never could
understand why anyone would ever want a rocking horse with a rag for a tail, but I now know it is probably beautiful in front on somebody's stone
fireplace and hearth today! And they paid well
over $250 for it!)

Wallsal, a lot of resturants are full of stuff like that, I have heard that many of them rent them, might be a bigger business than we know.

They probly do rentum. There's a cafe and Dr office in town that rents flowers.

This is a little place with farms of every sort all the way around the town so I never did understand the plant and flower rental.

used to be in the business....convenience is the answer, we used to service our rental accounts each week. water, feed and clean each plant, change them out when they got run down and according to season. tidy little profit maker and it kept our name right in front of them whenever they needed to send flowers for a funeral or holiday etc.

Burr, if you own them YOU have to look after them, that way they are someone else's problem, sign of the times I guess.

I did'nt have any idea it was going on til the lady from the flower shop was in the cafe tending the flowers.

I asked her what she was supposed to be doing and she told me about the deal.
