I'll be attending this gala event in Las Vegas starting Nov. 13. Any advice on what to do after the festivities are over?

Hello Cowboy
I've been in Vegas more than once, mostly to lead a group of tourists, and also for my own pleasure but I would need to 'interview' you:-) in order to come up with the right attractions specially for your kind of 'thing'; no time or space here, instead i'll send you a link that i'm sure you would have found yourself also, there are dozens like this one.
My 2 advice? Don't leave the booking of your hotel for the last minute, the WMA festival as you well know is an important event for some years now , some will try to get a hotel close to everthing at the very last minute and end up way off the Strip. You can book a room right now with a credit card and if you cancel withing their cancelation policy there should't be any charge, they have this 1-800's number where you can check on theirs. You can find great bargains in internet for the bests hotels; i've done it, booked The Imperial Palace last year for $45 for the budget consious guest ,but if you want a more fashionable hotel maybe Venetian [got married here:-)] for $125? rates are per night, Both where the action is.
A drive in a car is a wonderful sight at night and the dinner buffet are unbelievable everywhere...and...and...never mind , I can really get carried away with this..LOL

PS: I love the McCarran International airport , is an attraction all on its own.

Well when ya get tired of gambling away your retirement fund, you could give up on western swing and get into rockabilly and be an elvis impersonator.

Actually, rockabilly has its roots in western swing. Hillbilly boogie is a combination of WS and rockabilly. I'm planning on gambling no more than 50 bucks on the slot machines.

don't git drunk and set around outside them wedding chapels out there.

Did ye ever see what happened to Homer Simpson and Ned Flanders when they went out there.

Heard there's so much to do, it's hard to pick
one thing. I hear their buffets are something
