Got me a dissapointment with the heart specialist on tues.....faint whispers from my reg. doc about a treadmill session.....might sound a bit paranoid, but, I don't think I'm interested in that.....I know, they got all the stuff there if something goes wrong.....just like telling me to go ahead and hit my finger with the hammer, it's OK 'cause we got a band aid handy, just in case! If there is something wrong, I'm reasonably sure that there are other ways to find out without going through that kind of ...... I don't drive my tractors to the limit so I can find out if there is something wrong.....why should I do that to myself? I feel certain that if I were to invite one of those "specialists" to work with me for a day, I'm the only one that would be able to do a repeat performance the next day! Could be wrong on this, but, it wouldn't be the first time.... have a gooder, R.E.L.

A year ago, Signing up with a new doc as a new patient, he listened with a stethoscope. Said I
had a definite click to my heart. First time anybody ever heard one. When he asked about family heart health history, he said you're gonna
get the EKG, treadmill, and the echo. Well, I
wondered about the workout, but everything went
well, passed everything. One daughter has benign mitral valve prolapse caused by
overactive thyroid. Another daughter has a benign murmur. The only thing they have to do
is take antibiotics before surgery or having a
baby. So, nothing to get worked up about ahead
of time. So many things are benign, and if not,
I have been amazed at what they can do for folks
in the last few years.

Those Doctors can find anything wrong with ya! Working as a Electrician for 30 plus years I found after I climbed a ladder for 8 hours straite my calves hurt in my legs. So I went to the doctoers and they told me my problem was I needed excersize?? They wanted me to place the ball of my feet on a phone book an lift my heals up and down for around 15-20 miniuts every other day. I asked him wasn't climing a ladder for about a mile good enought?? He told me the phone book is different and will build up your calves. I decided to try not climing the ladder as much and wow my legs did not hurt as much. I sure would have liked to take him with me for a days work on a construction site and see how he held up. Maybe he would haft to work out standing on the phone book! Mark H.

Grove r, I know how stupid it sounds, but if you think about it, there are times when the tractor will only act up under load, and you always want to find out about it before you are pulling the hay wagon UP the hill.....
I ain't no doctor, but I have seen this with my parents, and in each case they found problems, and in each case they were really better after the repairs.
Don't wanna be in your shoes, but I think the fix is better than the alternative!
I ain't gonna stick around here alone, me and burr need your help. GO DO IT!!!!!
Good luck
Ron

Thanks for the input, everyone, realy appreciate it! I think maybe they are trying to asseratain if in fact I do have one...been accused of being sort of a heartless ..... On another note...Ron, I tried to e-mail you and it came back "undeliverable".....maybe I should rewrite and modify the note a bunch....realy didn't think I said anything that much out of the way though... have a gooder, R.E.L.

the first thing they are going to do is have you sign a statement that they are not responsibile if anything goes wrong .

I'm sure you are right, but please listen to your doctors so that the people that love you can put up with your ornary butt forever.

Never made sense to me either,"heart is in danger of failure,so lets see what it'll take OK?"However these folks are supposedly experts at their job.I've always been a slow walker and have a moderate limp and its almost a jog for me at the speed they set. They can also do a "chemical stress test" where you lay down and an injected solution, causes your body to react as if "under heavy load" while functions are closely monitored. That ones a lot easier on an old limper like me with a "hitch in my getalong".
Best of Luck to ya.
