A bunch of years ago while living in Mississippi I had a behind door neighbor and we'd meet at the fence between us after work and swap stories while injesting adult beverages. He worked for one of the major poultry and egg processing companies. One day he invited me into his back yard for some fried chicken that his wife had just brought out on a large platter. Looked like chicken nuggets...but back then there weren't no such thing as chicken nuggets. Well, after we'd et a bunch of them I got curious and axed what they wuz. He told me they were Rooster Fries. Now I had to cojutate a spell afore it cleared up in my mind that he's talking about rooster testicles. I never knowed there was such a thing...at least big enough to fool with...but I was dead wrong. I found out that you could order them from the chicken processing plant put up in five pound boxes and frozen. From then on I'd keep one or two boxes in the freezer all the time. They wuz about the size of yore thumb and tasted just like fried chicken. Some kind of good.

Does anyone have a recipe for the batter to make rooster fries? I have a 5 lb. bag of frozen rooster testicles, but I haven't yet found a recipe for the batter.

Any idea as to where I can obtain the five pound sized packet of rooster fries? Have not been able to find a source.

Yeah, there's no such thing as chicken nuggets - no such thing as chicken popcorn either! lol
"I made tools for 30 years and in all that time i only stepped in ONE pile of chicken s___.
But does everybody call me a toolmaker? NOOOOO, they call me chicken s___!!! " :)

That story ranks right up there with Otterpilot's.

Think you might be right. I've caponized a few roosters and what I pulled out wasn't really big enough to fry or anything else for that matter. (Cats seemed to like them but they eat rats so there's no accounting for taste.)

Poem of The Rooster Fries (Turkey Testicals)

There was once a guy named Duck,
Who didn't really give a F__k,
Even though he knew,
He gave 'em a little chew and spit the rest up!
