Pray for good weather Saturday

I donít post here very much but I sure do enjoy reading the messages. I would, however, like to ask for your prayers for good weather and a good turnout this Saturday. The community is holding a fundraiser for an Amish family that was injured in a terrible accident a few weeks ago. While traveling home in their buggy they were hit by a van and the driver of the van didnít have any insurance. There were five children and their parents in the buggy. The father and two of the children (age 3 and 9) have died and the others are expected to be released from the hospital soon. The reason for the fundraiser is because neither the driver of the van or the Amish have insurance and the medical cost are already over $1 million. The fundraiser is going to be held at two locations, one in York County, PA and the other in Lancaster County. It happened on the Norman Wood Bridge over the Susquehanna River that separates the two counties. I donít know how the accident happened, it was dark, but the bridge is about a mile long and straight as an arrow.

If anyone is in the area and would like to stop by I can give you more details. There is going to be all kinds of food, homemade ice cream, a petting zoo, pony rides, a helicopter will have a ďcandy dropĒ, a contest for a free helicopter ride, and a silent auction. Everything in the event has been donated and all of the proceeds are to go to the family. It is amazing how the community has come together for a good cause. Tomorrow it is supposed to be a beautiful day but a front is supposed to move in and rain Saturday. Hopefully the weather will hold out until it is over.

my heavens this is a sad tale. can an address be posted so that a body could send a greenback or two? bet several folks hear might do that very thing. i will say a word to the maker for everyone involved.
i dont know why these sad times hit upon some folks and not others. makes me want to count my own blessings all over again. if we can help with this - post a good address and the pertenint informations. you are good to make it known.

You got it, Phil, prayers will be with you and the family. And it sounds like you live in a community of really good people in that they are coming together like this for the cause. Every person who helps with this benefit will recieve a blessing for it.

Where is the fund raiser in Lancaster County going to be?

They'll be on our prayers and maybe some of my nice weather will make it there.
Although I can't help it to feel a bit mad when things like this happens; maybe they were needed up there? for some reason? don't know, won't know, yet. Patria
