Good Morning, being an observer of nature (lol) I noticed what appeared to be a 4 jet-engine airplane make a huge correction course high above. What would be the reason for this huge u-turn way up there? Could it be something as simple as a training manoeuvre or somebody waking up on the job.

Hi everyone. Just happened across this site while searching Google for "lines in the sky" photos.

I don't need to see a photo to know what you're talking about. I've witnessed the procedure a hundred times over my town, Columbia Missouri.

If you have an open and curious mind, check out the following links.

There are *hundreds* of incredible photos that will blow your mind at these sites.

Enjoy! :)

Could be a number of things. More than likely a military plane on a training mission, or possibly an AWACS plane, they often fly a racetrack course. Could be a test flight of an airplane, either commercial or military, after a major modification or repair. You didn't happen to notice if it was dropping bombs or anything, did you?

He was probably making a turn to line up for an approach to a runway from the right direction.
