Dolmar is making a come back in the U.S. I am a Dolmar dealer and have fast access to their distributor for North America. If the parts are still available from the factory I can get them for you, if I don't have them in stock. My web site is under development so you might have trouble accessing it but if you call me @ 715-528-4439 I will do my best to help you out. I also sell Oregon, and Briggs Parts Plus ATV, Snowmobile, Lawn and Garden and marine parts and accessories. 715-528-4439

We have a Sachs-Dolmar model 116 and I am looking for a few replacement parts:

1 Stud & nut for side cover
1 muffler
1 bearing assembly (under clutch)
1 clutch assembly

I was wondering if you might have or know where I might find these parts. I appreciate any help.

I have an older sachs dolmar 143 with a 36" bar. It runs great has a good chain. I used this saw when i worked as a logger. It is set up with a foam air filter. I also have extra chains, pull ropes, files, wrenches and lots of extra screws and small parts.

I still have 2 Sachs-Dolmar saws, a 120,(a 116 sold) and a 100. Used the 2 bigger ones for commercial work. Company now is just 'Dolmar'. Still in business.

I also recommend Jonsered and Husquvarna in that order.

All great saws, EASY to work on and dependable.

Stihl saws are too poorly designed and hard to work on in my opinion as a longtime user and mechanic.

A good friend of mine is interested in buying another model 119 mainly for parts, in particularly the electronic ignition coil, but would probably buy the whole saw.
Please send me any inf. and prices you have. Thank You, Frank Matthews

I have a sachs dolmar model 111 chain saw. It belongs to my local fire dept. It has had very little use but from setting it needs some carb work. If interested make an offer.

Rick Knuckles    Posted 02-17-2008 at 17:23:06       [Reply]  [Send Email]
I don't really know what your saw is worth. I have one I gave $100 for 8 or 10 years ago in very good condition. So if you would, let me know what you would take for it.

Ron Williams    Posted 02-06-2005 at 18:03:07       [Reply]  [Send Email]
still for sale? how about parts?

Jon    Posted 12-19-2006 at 16:01:44       [Reply]  [Send Email]
how much do u want for it and can u send a picture of it as well.

ed    Posted 11-20-2002 at 16:31:41       [Reply]  [Send Email]
Yes I do know where you can get one for that same model. I worked for a company called Sander Power co. in Allentown PA.. They have all of them in stock. By the way Wacker equipment also would have the part as they buy the Sachs Dolmar eq. and just give it a coat of paint and stickers. I hope this helps. Sander eq. is on Ruppsville rd in Fogelsville PA. if not Allentown. They will ship it right out. Ask for Dave or Rex if they still work there.

Are there no dealers around your area?
Unfortunately those saws are pretty much junque, IMHO.

Well now there Les, Bentcrank has to answer that.    Posted 11-20-2002 at 14:24:10       [Reply]  [No Email]
Hold on jest a dagburn minute there. Them Sachs- Dulcimer chainsaws was a goodn in there time. I got 3 of em now an the onlyest saw that keeps up an out stretches them is my Husqvarna 371XP. You a steel guy I'm bettin. Either Hogman or anothert has a 117 Sachs that he been tryin to wear out some time. I got a 112 that i paid cash money for new in 85 an i bet you cant run it as long in a day as i can. we got us a 117 an a 120 an the 120 will run a 36 inch bar and rip saw a 16' piece of red oak like it aint there. it aint a braggin if its toldt right. hope this came out cause it is so. them sachs saws has only one bad feature that i can see now- thats gettin parts for them and nothin else.

Les...Nope    Posted 11-20-2002 at 17:04:33       [Reply]  [No Email]
I gotta Jonsereds 2071 Turbo with a 2' bar. Stand back, boys, 'cause the sawdust is gonna fly.
One of the tree companies that works for us uses Sachs-Dolmar saws and the crews are always b!tchin about them and wanting a Husqy or a Stihl.

Yep,thats Me with tha old 117 model. Always starts, mostly on that first pull, sets'n idles soundin like a engine stead of a whizzer bike. It's old and it's got scars but it's still a mighty machine. Got that Husky all outta plastic, runs pretty good once Ya get it started, I like tha thing somewhat but sure gets disgustin when Ya take a saw ta tha woods'n it wo'nt do doodly for Ya. Yeah, I'm kinda partial ta tha ole sachs D 117.Parts are a problem I'll admit but theres one shinin, redeemin feature ta that, I've only had ta replace tha starter recoil ratchet thingie and that was My fault for not checkin it.

Chain bars will wear out like air filters but tha old engine jest keeps on goin n goin n go

I'm still running a 153, a wee bit heavy now for limbing, but on blocking the big stuff for firewood it'll out cut the stihl 064/066. If there was ever a Honda of the chainsaws IMOHO it was the Sachs/Dolmar. Would love to have another 120 Super.

hey there M.R. have you ever used a 117? what is your feelins bout them when compared to the 120? jest interested-

M.R.    Posted 11-21-2002 at 16:54:10       [Reply]  [No Email]
Never used a 117 to compare it with, when looking in a service manual all I'm seeing is a 122 super, 123 so I could be mistaken about a 120 super [memory is the second thing to go, what I hear anyway ;>] ]. Next time I get up on the hill I could check as one of them got over-revved [don't let anyone else mix my fuel anymore or borrow anothers] during a pre-commerical thin & still have a lot of the pieces in a box.

117, 119
Displ. 3.7 / 61cc
Bore 1.850" / 47mm
Stroke 1.38" / 35mm

122 Super, 123
Displ. 4.2 cu. in. / 70cc
Bore 1.850" / 47mm
Stroke 1.575" / 40mm

Don't have the specs. on the weight of the powerheads.
[.5 cu, in. difference in the stroke]

. .. . .. . .. . .. . .. . .. . .. . .. . .. . ..
152, 153
Displ. 6.1 cu. in. / 100cc
Bore 2.165" / 55mm
Stroke 1.654" / 42mm

Powerful & the tone/pitch of the noise level is a quite a bit softer than other brands, for/to me anyway. really thats my name !!    Posted 11-21-2002 at 08:52:07       [Reply]  [Send Email]
