Sure isn't about everyday country stuff anymore.
Seems like if your not one of the choosen few your thoughts and questions don't count.
My opinion,
Bill

Right on the money Bill.

Seems like most of the stuff posted here is about "lists" and fictional "hussies" and other stuff that may be significant to the chosen few but to the rest of us means little or nothing.

It's become a chat room for a group of people whom most of weren't even here a year ago.

BTW. The only reason I did not post my name is because the last time I expressed my OPINION on this site I received a nasty email with a link to a porn site from a frequent contributer who wished to get me in trouble at work. Yup a real class act that individual is.

Yep, I agree. I posted a worthwhile comment a while back and got humiliated for some very good suggestions that were asked for by the poster.

Tom A -- hey, where's y'alls manners?    Posted 11-27-2002 at 02:19:34       [Reply]  [Send Email]
I don't think Bill should be ridiculed for his comment. The fact it that this site *has* changed significantly in tone in the past year or so...read on before you hollar at me.

There used to be two related sites, linked. This one was strictly for "how to" sort of country stuff, with no "just chat." There was a related site, Country Living I think, that was for "just chat." Most of us frequented both. If you wanted a "how to" answer, it was quick to go to this site...not that you got an answer any faster, but there was a lot less scrolling involved in finding it. Now that there is only one site, I find that sometimes my answer is a page or two back by the time I look for it...this is a very active site.

So I for one miss the old setup, which may be what Bill was trying to say.

Tom

I agree with you Tom...I miss the old setup...Sad that Miss Kim had to spank all us bad kids...I see this site headed that direction...Some of us just do not police our comments very well when it comes to subjects that are better left at the door on the way in...

I am as guilty as some...not as guilty as others...

Let's see now the intro to this sight says something to the effect A place to have active friendly discussions about country life and living. Now let us review some of the latest topics. corn for boilers heating stoves somebody had a question about PA Dutch discussions about thanksgiving food storing bread in a freezer Baked Cod Someone is busy in the kitchen Someone has a problem with a dog killing chickens. Even some discussion about trying to understand wimmens And we can't forget Jimmy the chicken. Tractors were even mentioned. Now if this ain't active friendly discussion about country life and if this ain't living please tell me what is. Please pardon the miss spelled words and the lack of proper punctuation I kinda got in a hurry

My opinion is most folks are jsut trying to have some fun and enjoy themselves a little with our currently depressing economy & troubled times. But as far as the questions go they still get answered by all the knowledgeable folks here
