But I happen to be one of the forum members who really enjoys having some fun on here occassionally. When the skillet mistress killed off the other forum, a fine group of those folks started another private discussion forum on their own, and that sites worked out real well since the ones who seemed to cause problems were not invited to participate. But there were those of us who stuck with this forum as well. Yes it has evolved into a hybrid of both previous forums and theres apparently nothing wrong with that, or the skillet mistress would tell us to knock the crap off. Once and a while things may seem slightly out of hand but they tend to get settled quickly. And the questions asked here do still get answered. Now if'n I was one of the posters who seems to be offended by the the things discussed on this forum, I think instead of trying to belittle the conversations you don't appreciate I would be looking for another forum which was more suited to what I was looking for. We are quite lucky in that we have people on this forum from all over the world that we can converse with. Many of us have struck up really great friendships here as well. Anyway this is my opinion on the discussion, take that and a buck and oyu might be able to buy a cup of coffee LOL
Have a good one

Did I miss something along the way? What do you mean by "skillet mistress"? I am not familiar with that term. I sure hope it is not a slam against Kim... She does a super job and IS IN CONTROL of this site.

Be cool!

I love this forum. I'm relatively new, and it was doing fine before I came. Who am I to try and change it now? If you keep visiting the site, you eventually get to know about Sherry and Sassy, and all the other fun stuff. It's like a soap opera, you have to watch awhile before things start to come together. If a subject doesn't interest me, I just click off it and go to another post that suits me. No problem!

Country Talk Discussion Board    Posted 11-27-2002 at 10:51:18       [Reply]  [No Email]
"This is the place to talk with others about topics related to country life and rural living. Ask a question, help with an answer or just share some of your ideas and experiences."

I took a look at all the threads on this page as displayed my browser. I did not count the threads about this controversial subject and came up with a total of 16 threads. Of these 16 threads I figure three of them are fit the criteria above. The rest are personal communications between a group of friends. Now that's not a bad thing, but let's call a spade a spade. This site has turned into a chat room for about eight or ten people. Granted the eight or ten people are for the most part nice and will answer your questions if they can (just don't voice an opinion that they disagree with)but that doesn't change the facts.

There. Now you can get a day old donut with that coffee.

Name withheld because I don't want to receive anymore email at work with links to a porn site in an attempt to get me in trouble at work by a frequent contributer to this site.

Agree.
That is kinda what I was trying to say in the first place.

the problem    Posted 11-27-2002 at 13:20:12       [Reply]  [No Email]

the way i see it is the senseless chatter by people trying to be cute taking up board space and obscuring the real purpose of the board . i agree a chat room would be more appropate for the chatter . then there are the ones that like to dish it out but can't take it when someone comes back at them for some comment they made .

LH    Posted 11-27-2002 at 17:01:25       [Reply]  [No Email]
Is there some limit to this board space???? None that Ive ever noticed anyway, and I been here for over 5 years. If that were the case maybe peopel would check the archives on all the forums before asking the same question 20 times in a 2 week period.

If you got crap from a poster on this board, PLEASE make it known, a few days ago someone was posting and several of us had a bad time, (norton still has a devil in the corner fighting it off) It seems that someone was able to send from our addresses, and it may be an ongoing problem.
Thanx
Ron

I've been getting inappropriate stuff too, and it has been brought to my attention that a few people on this site have recieved emails (suposedly) from me, which I didn't send. I'm not sure what to do about that. With all the Virus talk and scares we have had lately, I have checked and double checked with Norton Symantic, and updated everything since then, and I have found nothing in my computer to indicate a virus being harboured, nor have I recieved any virus' that I am aware of. Even had a techy friend check things over and was given a clean bill of health. As some of the others have done, I will be installing a firewall. You can't be too safe I guess.

Dude! don't take yourself so seriously, you're gonna rot in the ground just like all the rest of us.......... let's be friends I don't know any of these people on this site and in fact probably live thousands of miles from any one of them but I've just joined right in with the rest and have in no way been insulted, rejected or made to feel anything less than part of the "group of friends"

Thats a good one    Posted 11-27-2002 at 11:44:28       [Reply]  [No Email]
Take myself to seriously?

Dude, If I had a dime for everytime my Mother/teachers/Wife/boss said "when are you going to take things serious" I'd be a very rich man.

I am just offering my perspective gained from two years of watching this board for you to use as you see fit.

I did say "that's not a bad thing" in my original post.

Please don't mis-understand me. I really couldn't care less which way this board goes and I still learn things here just about every day.

It's just that I see Bill's point and I thought he could use a little support.

Ok, perhaps I got caught up in the perceived issue. It seems it's all about perception anyway, My apologies to you for the blunt tone of my comment.
