Homesteading in Puerto Rico (Patria)
[Return to Topics]

Hello Folks,
Someone left this forum address on a post that I made over on Homesteading Today. My wife (Melitza), our two daughters and I are planning to relocate to Puerto Rico in a couple of years and are interested in homesteading there.
The lady that left the post said that Patria was from PR and could probably be of some help. I am hoping that I can get into communication with here either here or over on the Homesteading Today forum.
My wife is Puerto Rican and is originally from Salina, PR. She has all her family there and they are very excited that we have decided to move to the island and start up a farm.
We have been homesteading here in the Ozarks for several years and are now feeling that the adventure is almost over and are ready for a new adventure.
We bought undeveloped land and hand built our home. We did all the work ourselves and plan on the same thing again in Puerto Rico.
We presently raise our own food, goats and chickens. The girls will be homeschooled as they are very young right now. Melitza makes our soaps, quilts, makes wine, and cans all of our produce. I woodwork, hunt, fish, garden, and raise livestock.
Let us know if you can help us with any information about PR.
Sincerely,
Ernest

Hello Ernest, nice to meet you.
I've read the post more than once, at first I thought that it was a joke from one of the boarders here [although I haven't discarded the thought yet:-)]

My point is that I don't know much about the wonderful skils of homesteading, [the guys here do, though] but I live in PR and will be happy to help you in any way I can. There's much more when you are relocating, and I will be glad to answer any questions you have or help you with any research. My address is posted, feel free to mail me any time you want, or you can always find me here.

Have you been in PR? if so..
Have you met people that Homesteads like you do?

Come back to the board any time you feel like, it's filled with information and you can always share your experiences with the wonderful people
here.

Warm Regards from KountryLife
Patria
