Older Women with Long Hair - Aggggghhhh !!!
[Return to Topics]

Read the post below and noticed one thing about that fella liking long hair on the ladies. As long as they're young, BUT once they get to a certain age it's gotta get cut shorter. There is NOTHING worse (in my opinion) than some lady who isn't young anymore with the long, long hair. Although they might think it makes them look young, I think it makes them look super old, even a bit witch-like. Just my 2 cents.

I've been looking for some styles on the web, because at 36 with long hair (albeit very glossy hair) almost to my waist, I'm starting to realise I'm just tooooo old. However, having read some of the GREAT responses by women in the same position, I think I will keep my hair long....thank you for showing me things in a different light!!!

I think the "older woman should cut their hair" myth began with hairdressers, who certainly make more money on women who have monthly haircuts!! But long "well-cared for" hair can be gorgeous at any age!! Just look at Jane Seymour and Cher! Besides ladies, when are you going to stop letting society tell you how to look? I FEEL prettier, sexier, and happier with long hair, and my husband agrees. So this is one 47 year old who doesn't plan to cut my hair to suit anyone!

Shorty, that's a challange. I'm 71, my hair is to my waist. If someone will tell me how to put my picture in this "comment." then shorty can tell me if I look like a witch or not.

I suppose it's a matter of personal opinion, Long hair or short kind of depends on the shape of the face and ect. I kind of like the looks of wimmen wearing mens work clothes. I think what really looks sick is a partially bald man with long hair.

How about old men with long hair?    Posted 12-07-2002 at 06:13:30       [Reply]  [No Email]
Do you like them better? Just kidding, of course. BTW, have you ever sat on a plane next to anyone with long stringy hair---talk about agggghhh!

I tend to agree with you. However, don't try telling us women what to do about our looks! I don't wear makeup. I'm sure if I did wear makeup, I'd look younger and prettier, but it's just more trouble than I care to go to. Just like having long hair, it's an individual decision, and to each her own!

WallSal55 - Ok, Shorty, You May Have Started Somethin'    Posted 12-06-2002 at 19:26:27       [Reply]  [No Email]
What's a certain age? I am 47 with thick, curly
hair lying about my shoulders, 2-4 inches below
chinlength, no longer.
I keep it well styled, and my lady friends tell
me all the time I have fabulous hair.
Two months ago, I had a second glance from a construction worker in his mid 20's or 30's.
The third glance he and I both waved at each
other. (Do I want to cut it, heck no, I am having too much fun with it!)
I think most men like it, because it has that
tossled, just got out of bed look. But 99%
men are gentlemen.
However, I did have to literally threaten a
fella with a rollin' pin and a cast iron skillet
a month ago. Seems he got wind of our marital
problems, thought he could be a big tease, but
I believe I set him straight when I asked if he needed to be chased all over town with a rollin' pin and a cast iron skillet.
(EI, Dennis, everyone wrote about PEYTON place,
etc., I literally lived it--this year!)
And my grandmother had beautiful, long, black
hair at age 82! She did put it up in the day,
but it was so soft and lovely down at night!
So, you fellas wondered where the wimmen were
today. We were just lurkin' around!
Better Watch Out!
