After many years of reading, learning *and* contributing to this site, I just reluctantly deleted my bookmark here. It simply has become too frustrating.

Am I ticked with Bill? Yep. He just wouldn't "let it die." But am I also ticked at some of the rest of you, and your reactions to his opinion? You bet've ruined what used to be a fun and helpful site by letting the argument, and the childishness just drag on and on. Just when it dies out for a couple of days, someone has to get the last word--Bill or one of you others--and revives the whole mess again.

Frankly, many of your posts remind me of the very same yuppies you make fun of: folks who move into a nice country area and then want to change things to suit themselves. The "this is *my* front porch and I'll do what I want" attitude is bad, but is no different from city slickers moving into town and demanding sidewalks and other city services. This site is everyone's front porch, not *yours,* so be considerate and play nice.

But in the last year or so it has turned into a nasty, mean-spirited place that just isn't fun for me. Most of you won't care one way or another' but that selfish attitude is why good sites die off...and nice rural places, too.

Good luck. Enjoy yourselves. If anybody wants help with any stuff they think I know about (bees, gardens, chickens, goats 'n sheep, mechanical and electrical stuff, Aladdin lamps 'n heaters...) then feel free to email me and I'll try to help as I always have.

Gonna miss ya Tom. I aways enjoyed your posts. Never knew we were annoying you that much. You always struck me as a smart, gentleman, with a sense of humor.
Hope you and the family have a great holiday, and a happy new year.

I'll say a prayer for you at dinner tonight. It's a shame to lose someone that knows what they are talking about.

Will miss your well thought out, eloquent, non-emotional posts Tom...

I do not always agree with you, but I always read your posts with interest...

That reminds me...I need a wick for my blue-flame...
