Earlier this fall, I posted some recipes under the Recipe Board that are excellent for Gift-Giving from the farmhouse kitchen at this time of year. I felt most of these very simple, basic, and fast!
If you have any to share there (for gift giving recipes), I may want to try something new when I do my baking next week.

Hello :
use a tin square gift can and make chocolate dipped strawberries, you can use hershey chocolate that hardens up on the strawberries,
ingredients: strawberries, chocolate.
boil the chocolate until smooth and creamy
then dip the bottom half the strawberry.
set them on cupcake wraps get the silver or gold ones. refrigerate until they are hard chocolate
covers, then box them with 2 inexpensive wine glasses to a romantic couple on christmas...
it is a sophisticated gift. and you can do the same to cherries... many blessings cynthia...

here is a cake in a jar recipe, it is a cake but you bake it in a jar, tie a ribbon around it and a great gift. Also it will keep on the shelf for a long time as long as they leave the lid on. Just a thought.

WallSal, I can think of two recipes right off the bat, other than fudge, but you may already have them posted there. One is Coca Cola Cake and it's good because you can cook one cake and get some pretty Christmas plates at the Dollar Store and some colored Saran Wrap and a little ribbon and cover 4 or 5 gifts with one cake, since you slice it into squares. If you don't have the recipe, holler and I'll post it for you later tonight with I have more time.

Another one that I like this time of year is Fruity Squares, which is a sort of brownie-like thing made with mincemeat and brown sugar. That's another good one for cutting into squares and splitting between folks. Again, I'll post the recipe later tonight.

And, here is a web site with more good cake recipes than I've ever seen before in any one place! Hope you find some you like on here. :)
